Decision making and sickness

Blog meant for teens. These are obvious so skip if you are not a teen.

This is important and am sure you wont give enough importance when ur young.

Decision making is an art which we will see in different blog but for now lets focus on health related decision making.

You will know immediately when you are not feeling well but you wont decide on visiting the doctor immediately.

Whether its acute pain or discomfort you give sometime for pain to subside by itself.

what you forget is when you decide to go to doctor, after the pain stays for long time, doctor or hospitals might not be open

And whole other bunch of factors will play.

So here is how we shd plan.

1. remove variables and try to understand rootcause. Compare symptoms online and compare.

2. Decide on hospital/doctor and schedule appointment few hrs ahead. Learn cancellation policy for appointments as well.

Go to doctor immediately.

Deciding to visit the doctor

Moment you feel sick, dont wait for it to

Dont forget

This blog is meant only for kids now:

Start practicing to write and talk concise and crisp. Try to use minimum words to express your statements.

Have supporting statements and use them only when needed.

Attention span is low for everyone so when talking about something important, we need to use very right set of words…

Also your statement should not trigger another follow up question.

For example, here is what actually happened. You took dad phone without asking. You were playing with it and your sister/brother took it from you and played longer than you. you snatched it back and she was not giving up and snatched right back from you and phone fell from your hand and phone dropped on floor and screen glass broke.

Now when you want to say this to your dad or mom, generally you will start…she broke dad phone and she will say no you broke it…making parents go mad

Lets face it. you are in trouble. lets look how we can handle this…

Fighting Community ?!?

Back to blog after a while…I happened to visit a desi(south asian) site and got a chance to peep into the community forum…I always find certain deja-vu feeling in any desi post…They (should I say we ???) crib cry and fight…They call each other by names…swear on others…dirty replies to any post by ladies…and make them run away from the site…why ? Honestly I know handful of girls who actively participate in any forums…

Today in HT figured an article about how cheerleaders are harrassed in India…Complete link http://hindustantimes.com/StoryPage/FullcoverageStoryPage.aspx?id=7d5d071e-146e-41db-8cf1-80f2e97a23f1IPL2008_Special&&IsCricket=true&Headline=Cheerleaders+harassed+in+leer+country

From what I have seen Indian males behave very bad anonymously…I always see Indian males as compressed or contained community, with rules which break into basic male behavior…Though I always feel that American culture is flawed in many ways, on comparing Indian males, their lifestyle is lot better than us. There is certain amount of personal life allowed for American men. ( I dont want to get into other part of world now and will limit myself to american and indian men)…

Need to run now will continue shortly

100 Gig – Not enough though

No am not talking about your hard disk space…its about the 100 Gig ports on the switches.100 Mbps ports on PCs and switches bear a granny look on 1Gig and 10 Gig arrival. With 100 Gig coming on picture 1 Gig will be the industrial standard.

Am not saying that 100 Gig is coming for desktops or servers, but ISPs and Datacenters will be very keen to see them on their networks. It will definitely make the administrator work lot easier.

Am awaiting the dawn of 100 Gig ports hitting the market. We all know this bandwidth hungry market will not get contended with 100 Gig still that’s the one in near horizon. Or for that matter they might be happy to let out 40 Gig immediately which is relatively easier to roll out than 100 Gig. Coz cable requirement, scalability of existing networks, backplane capacity of current switches, chips will be questioned for 100Gig whereas 40G I think can be easily (relative) accommodated.

It took 5 long years to make 10Gig as official standard. How long will it take for 100 Gig ? The hardwares are ready for such huge traffic rate ? Have a look at these links to know a little more on 100 Gigies…

I will try to post a separate article on chip makers of 100 Gig.

Ganguly – Controversial Prince

John Wright has rightly said about him “A man with heart in his sleeves”.

“He [Ganguly] was a special man,” Wright was quoted as saying in the New Zealand Herald. “He wore his heart on his sleeve and there was an arrogance that used to get up people’s noses. But I think that was good for us, it was good to have that feistiness as the country learned it was becoming such a powerhouse in world cricket.

I still feel strongly that Ganguly will be back into the national side shortly in different version of the game:: Twenty-20.

I whole heartily welcome this new form of game as it opens up new avenues in cricket. No more draggy middle overs of 50 over games nor 2 rpo test matches. Inspite of Oz making the test matches a 4rpo game, it still hangs around 2 to 3 rpo for other teams. Twenty-20 will be a very good alternative for this and will give chances to try more players at international level.

If Ganguly can persuade his efforts to be back in team, I see a bright chances for him in this form of game. More matches means more fatigue, Injuries, worn outs, lean forms will provide chances for lot more younger talents in this country. In a Twenty-20 game, an all rounder, is an invaluable asset. And Ganguly with his medium pace will be extremely handy. When Sachin and Rahul are going strong in mid 30s I believe lot of talent is still waiting to be exploited from “Prince of Kolkata”, provided he keeps his mouth SHUT !!!

I see him as an immature but courageous guy with lots of weakness on and off cricket. His inability to handle pace and outswingers are clear for any new ball bowlers. I donno if there is a record for dismissing the batting partners. And am sure Ganguly will be in top 5 in that. He is very innovative in making wrong calls or half way returns to make his partner strand long way from bails and balls.

Nothing works for him now. County stint is not making progess to his batting. He is caught in dirty politics of Dalmiya-BCCI-Chappell and his own bat not listening to him. The sweet noise he use to hear from bat is heard only from stumps behind him.He is in deep trouble in his own backyard as Dalmiya is back with a bang. The man who had a strong backing in making him as an international player, subsequently captain, should be now looking for his blood. Its a pity to see him plead for his chances. I can imagine how bad it would have been for other players less his political influence.

Still he is someone loved for his mighty sixes and the arrogance and damn you look for the opponent captains. He was once King of offside. His wonderful coverdrives and placements on offside are sorely missed now a days.I would happily watch a strong Ganguly than a shewag for the authority in the strokes. We need to keep something in mind “Sportsmen are emotional people. They go by heart than by brains”. We need to admire them for their talents rather than off field behaviours.

Look at the Aura he carry with him. If Ganguly can sort his batting issues, forget his past, we are on for a big visual treat. Prove critics wrong and come back DADA !!! Stop seeing the media and start looking at his bat !!!

Welcome back Sachin !!!

With all this match fixing scandals, poor performances, email leaks, Dalmiya`s dirty politics, Chappel-Ganguly spat, my interest for cricket increases every day…My first work of day starts with rediff cricket, cricinfo, cricket.expressindia.com.

On my personal view cricket.expressindia.com tops my list immediately followed by cricinfo. I stopped reading cricket.indiatimes.com as I feel its too biased.

Well coming back to heading I have posted, eagerly awaited Sachin`s return is marked on Aug 14th Srilankan tri series. I feel the best of Sachin is yet to come. Well well well pls stand corrected am not ordinate fan of sachin but a strong critic. But no one can write an article without mentioning this guy…With all his valour and armory he can do real wonders for team India.

My brother used to question his commitment for the team when he played under Ganguly. I too have few questions for him. What was the urgency to declare himself fit for Windies tour and withdraw in last minute…Wasnt he aware of his fitness state ? I certainly doubt whether it is due to endorsement commitments…

Inspite of all these questions no one can point his finger on Sachin`s batting prowess.

John Wrights “Indian Summers”, he has mentioned he has never coached but advised Sachin when he sought for. What sort of coach is he ??? Is Sachin beyond coaching ??? I doubt…Everyone tends to move away from their original strength and technique, over the course of time and I believe coach is the one who can observe and correct it…Definitely Sachin had a lean phase during those 4.5 years of Wrights stint. Its a shame on him to mention he has never coached but was a mere spectator and I would say he has failed to bringout the best of Sachin.

Chappel to his part he questioned Sachins carreer and later changed his stand. Inspite of his own heights there should be a clear definition of what is expected from whom to make them feel important and committed. I feel each time Sachin has to keep his bar raised by himself and it wont happen always from the individual. There needs to be a small push from someone who has authority. I bet he can do wonders if he is not seen in awe but with a vision.
